Woman Arrested After Alleged Child Abduction

A woman was arrested after allegedly abducting a child.
According to a news release from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD), at approximately 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, the MCSD received information of a child abduction in the area of Del Lo Me Lane, located east of Plymouth, of a 3-month old child.
Officers from the MCSD, Plymouth Police Department and Indiana State Police immediately started traveling to the area. Officers from various departments and agencies started joining in the investigation.
At approximately 2:08 p.m., officers from the Merrillville Police Department and U.S. Marshall's Office located the vehicle in question.
The suspect - identified as Bobbi Jo Noviak, 45, no address listed, was taken into custody, without incident, and the 3-month-old child was located.
The release states, “This investigation is great example of teamwork of officers, agencies and departments sharing information and resources for a positive outcome of the child and family.”
The MCSD, along with other agencies and departments will be holding a press conference Wednesday, July 8 at the MCSD, 1400 Pioneer Drive, Plymouth, at approximately 9:30 a.m.
Criminal charges against Noviak include kidnapping, a level 5 felony, and criminal confinement, a level 5 felony.
Agencies involved included the MCSD, Marshall County Division of Child Services, Marshall County Dispatch, Marshall County Prosecutor's Office, Marshall County Drug Task Force, Indiana State Police, Plymouth Police Department, U.S. Marshal Office, Merrillville Police Department, Fulton County Sheriff's Department, Federal Bureau of Investigations and Lake County Sheriff's Department.
