Wolkins' Arrogance

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:
Recently, I noticed in the Times-Union a representative Wolkins pontificating on politics. Quote “It was a refreshing scene to see cosmetologists take over the state house versus the usual union protesters. They were polite and respectable and were given their opportunity to speak.”

Talk about arrogance! When working people see their future going down the drain, being replaced by scab labor in many cases and off-shore workers and invaders from Mexico and points south, it’s not productive to be polite with politicians. I say Hoosier workers along with union members should be a lot more action oriented than they are.

Another letter talked about unions and the mob referring to the film “Fist.” I thought it was a great film especially when Rocky told the greedy factory owner, “We are going to cut them off.” To wit the factory Czar said, “What do you mean?” “Your testicles we are going to cut them off.” Then the greedy Republcrat calls in an armed goon squad with the aid of crooked cops to break the strike with violence. Only then did Rocky accept push from the mob. Try the movies “The Molly McGuires” and “Mat-Wan” to learn what it was like before unions.

When you get pushed around enough you either push back or die. Incidentally, both Nixon and JFK were dealing with the mob throughout their careers for you goody two shoes. Some people never see both sides of the issue.
