Winner Announced For KWWIP Logo ContestKosciusko Water and Woodland Invasive Partnership (KWWIP) Education and Outreach Committee announced the winner of KWWIP’s logo contest.

This competition was open to all Kosciusko county schools.

Zachary Ringler, a ninth-grader at Wawasee High School, submitted the winning logo, according to a news release from KWWIP. Ringler has always been involved in graphic design and is also taking graphic design classes at Wawasee. While he has never been really active in environmental work, he is now finding it to be very interesting, the release states.

KWWIP is a new organization formed to ''build community support to protect the land and water in Kosciusko County from non-native invasive species.” It is a group of partners from many organizations with a common goal of pulling resources and knowledge collectively to combat the problem of invasive species spreading across the landscape and waterways.

KWWIP also is raising public awareness of the devastation being caused by non-native pests, and have come to the realization that “we will not begin to make much headway until the problem is addressed at the local level by local people using local resources,” according to the release.
