SYRACUSE – Wilma G. Meier, 84, Syracuse, died March 5, 2015, at her home. She was born Dec. 26, 1930, in Hanover, to William Oscar and Irene Katherine (Kessler) Goins. On April 2, 1951, in Biloxi, Miss., she married Graham R. Meier, who survives. She moved to the Syracuse area in 1971 from Economy. She graduated in 1949 from North Madison High School and retired in 2007 from Kinro Corp. in Syracuse, Goshen, and Bristol after 25 years. She was formerly employed at Syracuse Enterprises, Hanover College and drove a bus for public schools in Fairland. She was a member of the Wawasee Heights Baptist Church, Wawasee Camp Auxiliary of the Gideon’s International in Syracuse and was raised in the Methodist Church in Madison. Also surviving are two daughters, Katherine (and Phil Herbertz) Parker, Plainfield, and Carol (and spouse Ray) Spires, Elkhart; three sons: Gary and Joseph Meier, both of Syracuse, and Jerry Meier, Scottsburg; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Kreeger, Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Wawasee Heights Baptist Church, 504 S. Syracuse Webster Road, Syracuse, with Pastor Pat Park of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery.
