NAPPANEE - William L. "Bill" Stutzman, 90, formerly of Bourbon, died at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 5, 2009, in Bremen Health Care Center.
He was born March 26, 1918, in Goshen, to Levi L. and Emma Hochstetler Stutzman. On Nov. 11, 1942, in Goshen, he married Lovina L. Hochstetler, who died Dec. 24, 1997.
A lifetime area resident, he worked on a silo crew for Bourbon Silo Co. and was a lifetime farmer, a self-employed welder and a watch repairman. He traveled in the area doing evangelism work. He was a member of the Full Gospel Businessman Association, a former member of Old Order Amish Church and attended Northwood Chapel.
Surviving are a daughter, Kay Fisher, Nappanee; a son, Ray W. Stutzman, Mentone; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; seven sisters: Barbara Helmuth, Lydia Mae Hochstetler, Mary Yoder and Sylvia Kohler, all of Nappanee; Lizzie Troyer, Michigan; Annie Stutzman, California; and Fannie (and spouse Eldon) Yoder, Salem, Mo.; and a brother, Joe Stutzman, Nappanee. He was preceded in death by a daughter and five brothers.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.
