William AitkenWilliam “Bill” Aitken, age 90, and a lifetime resident of Warsaw, passed away quietly on Monday, Oct. 12, 2020, at 1:10 p.m. in Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center.
The son of the late James Edwin and Bernice Nora Neer Aitken, he was born on Nov. 19, 1929, in Warsaw. He was married to Reva Aitken, who preceded him in passing. Later, he was married to Patricia Aitken, who also preceded him in passing.
Bill was the plant maintenance supervisor for Kimbal Glass for nearly 40 years. He was hardworking and loved working with his hands. He could fix nearly anything and even built his home by hand. He was trustworthy and kind and was an honorably discharged veteran of the Army National Guard.
Those who survive include son, Jim (Lucy) Aitken, of Warsaw; daughters, Ann (Dennis) Bollenbacher, of Rockford, Ohio; and Julie Rhodes, of North Manchester; grandchildren: Aaron Rhodes, Darcie Warren, Michael Aitken, Christina Johnson and their families including several great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in passing by his parents; sisters, Mary Jane Ring and June Sumpter; an infant brother; daughter, Connie Allen; and granddaughter, Mindy Allen.
A Life Celebration® visitation will be held at Titus Funeral Home on Thursday, Oct. 15 beginning at noon. At 1 p.m., those in attendance will proceed to Oakwood Cemetery for a graveside service, officiated by Titus Funeral Home’s funeral celebrant, Sharon Brockhaus.
