Mandy Wilkie’s newest business, Warsaw Cryo & Recovery Lounge, grew out of her other business, Fitness 4U & Metabolic Mechanics.
Both can be found at the corner of Center and Indiana streets in downtown Warsaw, and Tuesday the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for each of them.
Wilkie, who is the certified aesthetics and orthopedic technician for Warsaw Cryo & Recovery Lounge, as well as the fitness and nutrition coach and weight loss specialist for Fitness 4U, explained, “Fitness 4U & Metabolic Mechanics actually was in this location for the last three years. I moved upstairs into a 5,000-square-foot studio - it’s above Mad Anthony’s - and I was offering localized cryotherapy to my clients.”
People kept asking her if the cryotherapy was for men, too, because Fitness 4U is women’s fitness for women.
“So, I’m like, ‘Yes! It’s for everyone, I want to help everybody,’” she said. “As time went on, I decided that Warsaw Cryo should be a separate business because I want to make sure that I can help as many people as possible. So men, women, even children will come in for aches and pains, recovery from sports, arthritis, joint pain, lower back issues, inflammation, things like that.”
Wilkie also offers other amenities like the deep tissue massage chair with red light therapy and the infrared sauna.
“I just want to reach more people and help more people,” she stated.
While Fitness 4U has been open for the last three years, Warsaw Cryo has been in business since the first of this year.
“I just actually, within the last month, got my operating hours and everything, and everything is set up in here, but I’ve been operating under Warsaw Cryo since January. Before, all of my localized cryotherapy was through Fitness 4U, which that is the overall company,” Wilkie said.
For Fitness 4U & Metabolic Mechanics, Wilkie has a website at fitness4umetabolicmechanics.com where a woman can schedule a consultation with her. Most of her consultations are done over the phone so it’s more convenient. Wilke’s phone number, which also can be found on her Facebook and website, is 574-306-6898.
Warsaw Cryo & Recovery Lounge has its own website at warsawcryo.com where a person can schedule an appointment. Along with scheduled hours, she has walk-in Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and there are discounts on localized cryotherapy for that.
There’s a lot of information on the businesses and their services on the websites. Wilke said if a person can’t find the information they’re looking for on the website, they can contact her through the contact page and she will get a hold of them.
“Fitness 4U & Metabolic Mechanics is unique because it is for women, it’s ran by women and I do specialize in women’s weight loss over the age of 40, but that doesn’t mean you can’t come in under the age of 40 and work out. So I do differentiate myself in that aspect in that business from all of the other gyms and studios around town because it is just for women,” Wilke stated.
“Also, for Warsaw Cryo & Recovery Lounge, I am offering cryotherapy to the public. I don’t think that there’s anyone else offering cryotherapy solely. It is localized cryotherapy, so it is for targeted areas.”
So if you have knee or shoulder pain or a lower back issue, Wilke can target that area without the person having to step into a full-body chamber.
“A lot of people like that because sometimes they don’t want to be cold all over, they just want to treat the specific area, so I am very specific in that aspect,” she said.
As well as the cryotherapy for pain, she offers cryo facials and a cryo stress melt.
“It’s a 45-minute reset I do,” she said of the cryo stress melt. “It’s a redlight therapy, massage chair for 20 minutes, then I’ll do a stress intention-related cryo therapy session to kind of melt all that stress away. And then you jump in the sauna for 20 minutes. So it’s a 45-minute reset, so by the time you walk out of here, you’re ready for a nap. All the stresses are gone and right now I’m offering 20% off of that, as well as the cryo facials.”
The treatments are not medical procedures, but are holistic. Wilke said a person can use their medical spending account, but she doesn’t take insurance.
Warsaw Cryo and Recovery Lounge is at 119 E. Center St., Warsaw; and Fitness 4U & Metabolic Mechanics is up the stairs at 117 E. Center St.
