Wendell W. Whitman, 65, of 1201 Fisher Ave., Warsaw, went to be with the Lord at 5:15 a.m. May 21, 2008, in Warsaw.
He was born Nov. 25, 1942, in Indiana, to Wallace Walter and Phyllis B. Prugh Whitman, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 4, 1964, he married Marilyn Ann Hitz, who survives.
Living in Kosciusko County since 1975, he was owner of Whitman Insurance Agency, Winona Lake, and KC-Online internet service provider. He was a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Taylor University; a masters of divinity degree from Southern Baptist Seminary; and an ND degree from The Clayton School of Natural Healing. He was the Youth for Christ director in Anderson, and pastored two churches in southern Indiana. He served on the Board of Kosciusko County Youth for Christ. He was president of the Exchange Club; co-founder of Certified Natural Health Professionals; founder and president of Trinity College of Natural Health; and founder of Charter College of Health and Massage Therapy and Health Freedom Expos around the country. He was publisher of health-related books and was involved in the manufacturing of herbal and health products. He organized and founded several not-for-profit organizations.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberly (and spouse Michael) Bushman, Naperville, Ill., and Julie (and spouse Bill) Kline, Warsaw; six grandchildren: Megan, Tyler, Katelyn, Cody, Riley and Jacob; and a sister, Betty Means, Carthage.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 210 S. High St., Warsaw, with Pastor Ron Horgan and the Rev. Al Buhler officiating. A private graveside service will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
