We Live on Either Side of the Mississippi

It has become apparent to me that the country is divided in a different way than most people could have imagined.

I feel we are divided by our core beliefs. And that being in our political views of life, forget about the color of your skin. I believe in God and I call myself a Republican. If the country were divided, say by the Mississippi River, east and west and the Republicans lived on the east side of the Mississippi and the Democrats lived in the west side of the Mississippi. I believe (the political views) this is the true division of this country. Don’t throw the color of a person’s skin into the equation. If this is so, where would you live in this equation and who do you think God would bless?

When Martin Luther King said, “Thank God Almighty, I am free at last,” he wasn’t thinking about the color of his skin. He was thinking about the belief in his God. Thank God I am free in my belief and this makes me a free person. He (Martin Luther King) was a great American by his beliefs, not by the color of his skin.

By the remarks in this article, I am thank God Almighty free and living on the east side of the Mississippi River.

Where do you live?
