This is a letter to say thank you to the Warsaw School Board for their time and commitment to the Warsaw Schools. I don't always agree with the decisions that you make, but you are still our elected school board and your time and efforts are appreciated. And thank you to school board member Kent Adams for being willing to go against the crowd and vote against the motion for keeping the position of development coordinator. Public schools get public money even when the state makes cuts. Our private schools, which help to keep the public schools competitive and give our students a choice, have a hard enough time raising private monies just to pay teachers and buy classroom supplies, let alone have sports or extracurricular activities.
Please keep our public schools focused on academics first and foremost over marketing and development especially in today's economy where nothing is certain. Students used to go to school in barns without modern conveniences and received just as good, if not better, an education as today.
