WCS Asst. Supt. Robertson Announces Career Transition In early November, Dr. David Robertson, assistant superintendent for secondary education for Warsaw Community Schools, announced his decision to pursue a new career opportunity effective in January of 2023. Immediately, planning commenced ensuring a smooth transition.
Robertson said, “The decision to leave my position at Warsaw Community Schools was extremely difficult. Simply stated, my time at Warsaw Community Schools has been one of the most rewarding and meaningful experiences of my life.
‘Throughout my career, the Lord has guided my family and me along the way. He has consistently proven faithful in leading me to the classroom as a teacher, to the office as a principal, and to the district office as an assistant superintendent.
“Now we believe the Lord is leading our family to an incredible opportunity outside the field of education. While I am excited about opportunities to give back to our community in new and different ways, it’s important for people to understand that this opportunity was unexpected and certainly not something I was looking for; my role as assistant superintendent is very fulfilling.
“I want to say thank you to all of the teachers, administrators, and staff that I’ve had the pleasure of working with during my time at WCS. We have an amazing team!
“The group of people I work with every day is the best team I’ve ever served with and I will miss working with them daily. I know that someday I will look back on my career and cherish my time on this team as one of the greatest privileges of my life.
“I want to say thank you to our school board. Throughout my career at WCS, I have always been supported by their meaningful engagement. Finally, I want to say thank you to the students and the families I’ve had the privilege of serving while at WCS. It’s been such an honor to serve you in the various roles I’ve held in our corporation.
“Again, this decision came with much prayer, and while we’re saddened at the close of this chapter of our lives, we’re excited about what God has in store for our family in the next.”
Dr. David Hoffert, superintendent of Warsaw Community Schools offered his appreciation for the 19 years Robertson has given as an educational leader. “I’d like to thank Dr. Robertson for his dedication to Warsaw Community Schools. Dave has impacted thousands of students, teachers, and parents during his time as a teacher at Harrison Elementary, principal at Jefferson Elementary and assistant superintendent with the Central Office. It is unusual to have a leadership team together for nine years, and I have been blessed by his commitment to our schools. While he will be missed greatly as a close friend and colleague on our central office team, I am excited for him personally as he explores new opportunities and ways to serve our community.”
