Warsaw Community Schools (WCS) announced Warsaw Community High School Theatre’s production of “Shrek, The Musical” has been selected to perform on the Main Stage at the International Thespian Festival this summer.
Out of schools across the country, 12 productions were selected for main stage performance. This marks the second time in recent years Warsaw Theatre has earned this distinction. Warsaw Theatre previously performed on the national stage in 2024 with “My Heart Says Go,” according to a news release from WCS.
The cast and crew for “Shrek, The Musical” includes 36 student thespians, whose months of rehearsals, technical preparation and artistic collaboration led to this national recognition.
The International Thespian Festival will be June 21-26 on the campus of Indiana University - Bloomington, where student performers from across the United States and around the world gather for workshops, performances and theatre education experiences.
Before heading to the national stage, the community will have one more chance to experience the student production as Warsaw Theatre presents an encore performance of “Shrek, The Musical” on June 17 at 7 p.m. at the Warsaw Performing Arts Center.
More information about the festival can be found through the International Thespian Festival.
