Editor, Times-Union:
I read the article this morning concerning some students leaving the school grounds to protest illegal immigration enforcement.
It’s nice to read (tongue in cheek) that some students are supportive of pedophiles, murders, rapists, gang bangers, women abusers, drug traffickers, those who commit sexual assault, robbery, kidnapping, DWI and killing pedestrians and drivers, and the list goes on and on. It really shows how our Indiana school system is failing some students.
One tragedy for example: The late director Bob Clark (“A Christmas Story”) and his son were killed in a head-on collision by an intoxicated illegal alien in 2007. Bob Clark is in the film as Swede (in blue jacket) while looking at “the lamp” from outside across the street with “the Old Man.”
As for having identity papers, every time I have been in another country - in Europe, Asia, Canada, Mexico, etc. … I always had identity papers that stated I was in the foreign country legally. And, if I became a citizen of that country I would have no qualms carrying papers proving my citizenship.
I wonder if these students were of their age back during Obama’s presidency that they would be protesting the current enforcement. Probably not.
Peaceful protesting is fine and a right but have some thorough knowledge of what you’re protesting about.
