WCHS Jr. Speaks At Statehouse On Nicotine ImpactsWarsaw Community High School junior Cayman Blake recently was invited to speak at the Indiana Statehouse on the impact of tobacco and nicotine.
Cayman spoke alongside Steve Long, Hancock Regional Health CEO and Indiana Chapter of the American College of Cardiology president, and Dr. Vijay Rao, MD, PhD. Also in attendance was Tiffany Nichols, American Lung Association advocacy director, according to a news release from Warsaw Community Schools.
Blake shared about his commitment for a tobacco-free future. This passion was fueled by the loss of his grandfather to tobacco use when he was 59 years old, which prompted Blake to try and safeguard others from this kind of loss through joining Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, stated the release. He hopes to create an impact in the Warsaw community and beyond.
Blake is also a member of the Kosciusko Cares Youth Coalition and the youth sector representative for the Drug-Free Kosciusko coalition.
