Watch Out

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:

I am writing to tell the public to watch out. Many, many times over the years I have seen drunk drivers, drivers passing quickly on no-pass lanes, reckless and speeding drivers.

In 1986, a drunk driver driving reckless and fast killed my son who had just turned 18 and was getting ready to graduate from high school and wanted to go to college.

Today I had been to the chiropractor as I have disc problems and was in pain. Detroit Street was bumper to bumper so I turned on CR 250E to come home and was doing 45 and then turned on a Christian channel on the radio and saw a police car coming fast behind me with lights blazing. And I honestly wondered who he was after. Talk about surprise when he pulled over and stopped me. I asked why he stopped me, he said I clocked you at 57 miles an hour. So now I go to court like a criminal.

I really did not think I was speeding. Maybe subconsciously when I turned the southern gospel on I accelerated, but last I looked it was 45 miles on. But being the grandma criminal I am I will pay the dues. Just or unjust.
