Warsaw Street Department recently received the Project of the Year In-House Award from the Indiana Street Commissioners’ Association for its South High Street Project.
At Friday’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting, Warsaw Public Works Director Dustin Dillon said, “On behalf of the Public Works Department, it is with great pride that we recognize our city of Warsaw Street Department for their recent achievement.”
This year, the Indiana Street Commissioners’ Association recognized excellence in communities with industry awards for Project of the Year, Project of the Year In-House and Street Commissioner of the Year.
“Our Street Department submitted the South High Street project for the Project of the Year In-House. This project consisted of removal and replacement of sidewalks, milling of the roadway and new surface asphalt paving of South High Street,” Dillon said. “Our project was selected as the award winner for the ISCA Project of the Year In-House and was recognized at this year’s Purdue Road School in March.”
He said the project was completed with all in-house staff consisting of a combination of the department’s concrete and paving crews.
“This was one of 18 road segments that was paved by our in-house staff in 2025, and one segment of sidewalk that was part of over 4,200 linear feet of sidewalks replaced by our talented workforce. We greatly appreciate our team at the Street Department, and what they have been able to accomplish for the benefit of our community over the years. We often make the joke that ‘Not everyone is made for the streets, that’s why we build sidewalks,’” Dillon said.
He continued, “We greatly appreciate the recognition from the ISCA awards committee for shining a bright light on our Street Department project. Most of all, we would like to thank our Street Department for their continued efforts to make the city of Warsaw a beautiful place to ‘live, work and play.’ Thanks, guys, for everything you do.”
