Warsaw and Nappanee will host community dinners on Thanksgiving that are both open to the public and free of charge.
In Warsaw, the traditional community dinner at Center Lake Pavilion that began nearly three dozen years ago will continue.
Warsaw Elks will host the dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Meals also are available for those who are homebound. Reservations for homebound meals should be placed by Wednesday by calling 574-267-7802.
A spokesman for the Elks predicts they will serve about 350 meals at the pavilion and deliver almost as many to people in their homes.
The meals will be prepared by members of the Elks as well as volunteers. The event also is supported by local businesses.
The Elks have been sponsoring the dinner for nearly two dozen years.
In Nappanee, the Nappanee United Methodist Church, 301 E. Market St., will host its seventh consecutive community dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.
The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted. The dinner will include all the traditional foods.
