Warsaw Man Killed In Allen CountyALLEN COUNTY – A Warsaw man was shot and killed early Sunday in Allen County.

Nicholas Phillips, 36, died of a gunshot wound to the head and his death is being ruled a homicide, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

According to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Allen County police officers responded to the 5300 block of Hursh Road for a reported one-car accident with injuries. Upon arrival and after conducting an initial investigation, it was determined that the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle had sustained secondary injuries not caused by the crash. Phillips was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:11 a.m.

The investigation also determined that a disturbance had occurred prior to the crash and a second victim was also transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries sustained during the disturbance, the sheriff’s department said.

The incident is under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

No suspect information has been released, and the sheriff’s department said that due to the nature of the investigation, no other information is being released at this time.
