Warsaw Man Facing Residential Entry, Possession Of A Syringe ChargesA Warsaw man is facing charges after allegedly entering a residence and being found sleeping with drugs nearby.
De Kota Allen Holbrook, 24, of 779 S. Warbler Lane, Warsaw, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 9:23 a.m. Thursday and faces charges for residential entry, a Level 6 felony; and possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed Feb. 19 in Kosciusko Superior Court I, a property manager called police Jan. 22 and said a man was found sleeping in the apartment.
Upon arrival, police located Holbrook sleeping in the washer/dryer area and an orange syringe cap next to him, according to the affidavit. Under the washer, police located a syringe and a piece of foil that field tested positive for methamphetamine, according to court papers.
While Holbrook was being booked into the jail, he gave police a spoon containing a white powder substance and said the spoon would probably test positive for suboxone, but the spoon did not field test positive for anything at the time, according to court papers.
