A Warsaw man was arrested on rape and sexual battery charges.
Nathaniel Lawrence Devault, 22, of 1704 S. West Point Drive, Warsaw, is charged with rape, a level 3 felony; and sexual battery, a level 6 felony. He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 1:28 p.m. Wednesday on a $15,250 preliminary bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on Wednesday a Warsaw Police Department officer responded to a call. The victim said Devault came to their residence. While there, he asked if he could take a nap prior to leaving for work. The victim allowed Devault to stay over until he had to leave for work.
The victim said they fell asleep and, while sleeping, Devault sexually assaulted them, according to court documents. The victim said they waited until Devault left to call dispatch.
An initial statement was taken from the victim and then submitted to an examination at the Sexual Assault Treatment Center in Fort Wayne.
