A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly hitting two women and pointing a gun at them.
Jae’vion Julius Lawson, 19, of 418 N. Roosevelt St., Warsaw, is charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony; pointing a firearm, a level 6 felony; domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; and battery, a class B misdemeanor.
He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 10:08 p.m. Monday on a $10,000 preliminary bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on Monday Kosciusko County Dispatch told law enforcement about a man, later identified as Lawson, pointed a gun at a woman’s head. Warsaw Police Department officers responded to the scene.
An officer located a woman in the driveway. She said Lawson was inside the residence. The officer located and handcuffed Lawson.
An officer spoke with a second woman, who provided the officer with a Glock 20 Gen 5 10 mm gun with a loaded magazine. The second woman said Lawson, the first woman and a third woman were involved in a physical altercation. The second woman said Lawson grabbed the handgun from the nightstand and the second woman took it from him. The second woman said the gun belonged to her.
An officer spoke with the third woman, who said she argued with Lawson about the first woman. The third woman said she, Lawson and the first woman all pushed and shoved each other. The third woman refused to answer questions about the gun.
An officer talked with the first woman, who said Lawson and the third woman argued. The first woman said she exited the residence to start her vehicle, saw the second woman jump up from the couch and saw Lawson yell, push, hit and spit on the third woman.
The first woman said Lawson smacked her in the face two times. The officer noted some redness near the first woman’s left ear, according to court documents. The first woman said Lawson put a gun to her head and the third woman’s head and Lawson said he would shoot her.
The first woman said Lawson lowered the gun and the second woman took the gun. The first woman said she feared for her life.
The officer spoke with a man who said he sat on the couch, heard people yelling and stepped between Lawson and the first and third women. The man said Lawson swung at the first woman and third woman. Lawson then went to the bedroom and returned with a gun.
The officer read Lawson his Miranda rights. Lawson admitted he slapped the first woman and the third woman. He also said he pointed the gun at the first woman, told her to leave and the second woman took the gun.
