According to the probable cause affidavit, on Tuesday, Kosciusko County Dispatch advised law enforcement of a woman who was allegedly battered by a man, later identified as Faulkner. The woman said Faulkner allegedly attempted to rape the woman and she was in a parking lot.
A Warsaw Police Department officer responded and located the woman. The woman said she was with Faulkner when he grabbed her hair and tried to force her to perform sexual acts. Two WPD officers attempted to locate Faulkner.
The woman said she previously talked to Faulkner about an event and they exchanged numbers. They had started communicating on Tuesday through a phone call and text messages, but there was no discussion about sexual activity.
Faulkner picked the woman up. He drove on U.S. 30 to the exit ramp to Ind. 15. He threatened to drive 100 miles per hour and the woman said she was scared.
The woman said they stopped at a store. They left the store, Faulkner drank beer while he drive and was speeding. Faulkner ran off the road and missed turns. The woman asked Faulkner to drive decently and he told her to shut up. The woman said Faulkner hit a stop sign and dragged it with his vehicle and the woman saw other vehicles coming at them. The woman said she feared for her life and thought a crash would happen.
Faulkner then stopped his vehicle, opened the woman’s door and urinated on her. Faulkner then allegedly hit the woman two times in the stomach.
Faulkner then continued to drive, exposed himself and asked the woman to perform a sexual act on him. The woman refused. Faulkner then grabbed the woman and tried to force her to perform a sexual act.
The woman also said Faulkner grabbed her in multiple places and an officer saw some bruising.
The woman told Faulkner to taker her home and he refused. Faulkner then went into a parking lot, exposed himself again and tried to get the woman to perform a sexual act on him. The woman refused.
Kosciusko County Dispatch say they received a report of a stop sign down at CR 700N and CR 200E at about 3:56 p.m. An officer spoke with a witness who said he was driving behind a motorcycle towards the intersection when he saw a vehicle hit the stop sign and the sign was stuck under the vehicle. The vehicle almost hit the motorcycle and drove away from the scene. The witness described the driver, which was consistent with Faulkner, according to court documents.
An officer spoke with Faulkner, who had his pants unzipped and his genitals exposed. An officer saw an empty beer can on the center seat of the vehicle and detected alcohol on Faulkner’s breath. He also had red and watery eyes, according to court documents.
Faulkner refused to do standardized field sobriety tests. The officer searched Faulkner’s vehicle and found three empty open beer cans. The officer also saw damage to the front hood and bumper of the vehicle. Faulkner was transported to a hospital, a search warrant was obtained and the certified chemical test results are pending.
