A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly inappropriately touching a child under the age of 14.
John Daniel Kiszkan, 70, of 814 Shady Lane, Warsaw, is charged with child molesting, a level 4 felony; and child solicitation, a level 5 felony.
He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 7:53 a.m. Saturday on a $50,500 preliminary bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on May 28, 2025, a Warsaw Police Department officer became aware of an alleged child molestation incident. According to the report, Kiszkan fondled a child between July 4 and July 5, 2024. A relative of the child said they were made aware of the incident by the child on May 27, 2025, the day prior to making a report to the WPD.
A detective spoke with Kiszkan on or about June 16, 2025, at the WPD. The detective asked if Kiszkan was familiar with the child and he said he was. Kiszkan said he had a hot tub at his residence and he got in the hot tub with the child. He could not recall what time he was in the hot tub with the child. He said he had been drinking on July 4, 2024.
The detective asked if Kiszkan had fallen asleep on his couch and Kiszkan replied he probably did, but that was a year prior to the interview with the police. The detective asked if the child had fallen asleep on the couch on any of the nights of the reported incident. Kiszkan said he didn’t think so. The detective asked if anything significant happened during that timeframe and Kiszkan said nothing he could recall.
The detective said the child saw Kiszkan naked in the hot tub. Kiszkan said he didn’t recall that. The detective asked if Kiszkan remembered touching himself on July 4, 2025, and Kiszkan said he didn’t. The detective also asked if Kiszkan remembered touching the child at all and Kiszkan said he didn’t.
On June 10, 2025, the child submitted to a forensic interview at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Michigan. The child said Kiszkan had inappropriately touched them.
