Warsaw Man Arrested For Allegedly Making Bomb Threat To Probation Department

Police deemed a bomb threat at the Kosciusko County Justice Building Wednesday morning as not credible and have arrested a man in connection with the threat.

According to Warsaw Police Department Public Information Officer Det. Brad Kellar, at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday WPD officers were dispatched to the downtown area regarding a bomb threat that was left on a handwritten note and attached to an adjacent building to the Justice Building.

The written threat was directed toward the Kosciusko County Probation Department, Kellar said.

Upon receiving the complaint, WPD officers and detectives converged on the area and were assisted by Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputies to conduct a thorough search of the interior of the Justice Building.

With nothing suspicious located, an extensive investigation ensued, Kellar said.

Patrol officers and investigators worked with businesses and helpful members of the community in the downtown area. Several entities came together to quickly lead to a suspect in the case, Kellar said.

With help from surveillance cameras, KCSO, NET 43, the Kosciusko County Probation Department, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and the Indiana State Police, Warsaw PD investigators believed Travis Lee Henson, 38, was the suspect that made the bomb threat.

Reasonable suspicion turned to probable cause after a search warrant was written then approved and signed by a judge.

With the use of the Warsaw Police Emergency Response Team, in conjunction with NET 43, that search warrant was executed at 504 E. Fort Wayne St., Apt. 2, Warsaw.

Henson was taken into custody without further incident. During the search, Kellar said additional evidence was located adding to the investigation.

Henson was incarcerated at the Kosciusko County Jail and put on a 48-hour prosecutor hold. Within that period, charges will be finalized and announced.

Kellar said WPD is thankful to all those that helped in a quick conclusion to the incident and that there is no longer a safety concern to the Justice Building.
