Warsaw Man Airlifted After Single Motorcycle Accident

A Warsaw man was airlifted Thursday after a single motorcycle accident.
According to a news release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, the personal injury crash occurred on CR 200E, one-fourth mile south of CR 500N in Plain Township.
At 1:57 p.m., KCSO deputies and emergency personnel responded to the accident near the residence of 5943 N. CR 200 E. Emergency personnel arrived on scene and found a Yamaha motorcycle involved in the crash.
The preliminary investigation determined the motorcycle was southbound on CR 200E and, for an unknown reason, the bike skidded, causing the bike to lay down. The driver of the Yamaha motorcycle, identified as Rodney A. Chiddister, 64, Warsaw, was ejected from the vehicle, the release states.
He was airlifted from the scene and flown by Samaritan helicopter to Fort Wayne for treatment of his injuries.
Assisting at the scene was the North Webster Police Department, Milford Police Department, Plain Township Fire Department, Tippecanoe Township Fire Territory, Lutheran EMS, Raven’s Wrecker Service and Samaritan Air.
The accident remains under investigation by KCSO deputies.
