Warsaw Community Public Library Board has opted to raise its non-resident fee by $4.
The board made that change at its meeting Monday.
Warsaw Community Public Library Director Heather Barron said that was due to its "material expenditures per capita" as calculated by the Indiana State Library.
The fee has been raised to $104 per year, with it effective Tuesday, Aug. 12.
The board also heard a number of library statistics for the last month and year thus far.
The library has had 71,501 visits this year, which is 5,071 more than last year.
Adults and teens that were part of the summer reading program totaled 851, with there being 929 kids.
There were 12,564 visits in July, with more than 13,000 uses of the library's wi-fi that month.
In other business, the board:
• Heard that the library hosted a blood drive on July 16 and will have Francine's Friends mobile mammography unit at the building in September.
• Heard that more than 40 library patrons contributed to informational videos DreamOn Studios is producing for the library. The videos should be done by September.
• Learned that the Friends of the Library's books and cookies sidewalk sale raised $1,683 for the library.
• Heard that the library's boiler project should be done soon and a tree will be taken down by the library.
• Heard that Charlene Caron is retiring from the library after 15 years, with Erica Bennington helping take on her role.
• Heard that the library will be closed on Thursday, Aug. 14 for staff development.
The board's next meeting is 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9.
