The Warsaw Community Public Library Board of Trustees recognized retiring Library Director Ann Zydek for her 42 years of service to the library during its Monday board meeting.
"We all really, really appreciate everything you've done," said Board President Chris Merrill to Zydek. "It's our responsibility to protect and continue this legacy, and that's what we're going to do."
After the meeting, the board presented Zydek with a card and an engraved plate from Warsaw Cut Glass.
A public retirement party honoring Zydek will take place at the library from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday.
As Heather Barron, WCPL's new library director, will not start in the position until Oct. 2, the board appointed Dana Owen, WCPL's head of information services, as the interim library director.
The board also learned a euchre club will begin meeting at WCPL Tuesday. The club will meet on the second Tuesday of each month, with a session from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m.
WCPL's Board of Trustees' next meeting is at 4 p.m. Oct. 16.
