Warriors Defeat NLC Rival Goshen 51-48 In OvertimeSYRACUSE – Despite a slow first half, the Wawasee Warriors defeated Goshen Saturday night in a boys basketball game. In the Northern Lakes Conference showdown, Wawasee won 51-48 over the RedHawks in overtime.

After being down 20-12 at halftime, the Warriors (5-13, 2-5 NLC) scored 25 points in the next 16 minutes of play to send the game into overtime. 

In the extra stanza, Wawasee sank six free throws to clinch the game. Goshen (7-11, 2-5 NLC) only made it to the line once in the overtime and missed its only opportunity in the frame.

The Warriors went 8 of 15 at the free throw line in the game and the RedHawks went 2 of 5. Wawasee only had eight fouls in the game, while Goshen tallied 16.

Trevon Coleman had 17 points and nine rebounds to lead the Warriors. Jacob Hand earned 11 points and dished out four assists in the game. 

Wawasee plays at Westview on Tuesday for a nonconference game. The contest will begin at 7:30 p.m.
