Warner Files For Claypool Board Vacancy

Posted
CLAYPOOL – Eugene Warner has filed to fill the vacancy on the Claypool Town Board.

Warner filed his papers with the office of Kosciusko County Clerk Ann Torpy Thursday.

To date, Warner is the only candidate to fill the vacancy for the board’s south district seat after the death of Larry Neher on March 11.

County Republican Chairman Mike Ragan said he plans to announce Neher’s replacement at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. People interested in filling the vacancy will need to file a declaration of candidacy and statement of economic interest with the county clerk by 2:30 p.m. Monday to be considered.

Ragan previously said that because there are fewer than two precinct committee members, by law a caucus cannot be held and the responsibility of filling the job falls to the county’s party chairman. Because Neher was a Republican, it’s up to Ragan to fill the post.
