MENTONE – Wanda M. Mikel, 71, of rural Etna Green, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 5, 2020, at her residence after a three-year battle with cancer.
Wanda was born on July 21, 1948, in Rochester, to Delbert A. and Deloris Sarber Senff. She married on Aug. 24, 1969, in Nappanee, to David L. Mikel. He survives.
Wanda had been a teller and a bookkeeper for Farmers State Bank of Mentone as well as a homemaker. She was a 1966 graduate of Triton High School. She was a member of Tippecanoe Primitive Baptist Church of Bourbon. She always enjoyed being involved in activities with her family.
Survivors include her husband, David Mikel, of Etna Green; mother, Deloris Senff, of Bourbon; daughters: Tracy and husband Jeff Zimmerman, of St. Jacob, Ill.; and April and husband Jeremy McClung, of Huntsville, Ontario, Canada; sons: Rick and wife Heather Mikel, of Etna Green; and Spencer and wife Stacy Mikel, of Mentone; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters: Barbara and husband Kent Farrer, of Bremen; and Bonnie and husband Roger Jeffers, of Bourbon; and brothers: Jerry and wife Brenda Senff, of Bourbon; and Rex and wife Brenda Senff, of Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her father, Delbert Senff; granddaughter, Nicole Mikel; four infant grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Clevenger.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 9 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Elder Danny Wisner and Elder Tommy Sarber officiating. The interment will follow the service in the Harrison Center Cemetery, Etna Green. Following all social distancing guidelines, masks are encouraged. Visitation hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 8 at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
