On Sunday, March 29 at 3 p.m., Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts will present “This is Me,” a collection of performances created in partnership with Cardinal Services in celebration of Disabilities Awareness Month.
Featuring songs hand-selected by members of the Cardinal Services Performing Arts Club, the program includes favorites such as “Strange Things” from “Toy Story,” “What Dreams Are Made Of” from “The Lizzie McGuire Movie” and “A Million Dreams” from “The Greatest Showman.”
Over the past six months, Kira Lace Hawkins, Thomas Hall and Ian B. Connor have worked alongside these talented performers each week, helping them shape and bring this production to life, according to a news release from the Wagon Wheel.
This program is made possible through the support of the WindSwell Foundation, Forrest W. Bouse & Kathryn Bouse and the Eldora Neher Charitable Endowment.
“What I’ve witnessed in these rehearsals is pure joy,” said Sam Engle, communications and donor relations coordinator of Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts. “There is so much heart, bravery and authenticity in this performance, and I know audiences will feel that the moment these artists step on stage. ‘This is Me’ is a beautiful reminder that our differences are not limitations. They are the very things that make us powerful.”
Tickets are available at wagonwheelcenter.org, by calling the box office at 574-267-8041, or at the door prior to the performance.
