Voyeurism Charges Filed Against Ohio Man In July Camera IncidentAn Ohio man is facing felony counts of voyeurism after allegedly recording video of female students in a dormitory bathroom at Grace College.

Gavin Layne Reeves, 20, Winchester, Ohio, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 8:35 p.m. Thursday for voyeurism. His bond was set at $5,000 surety and $250 cash.

Court documents filed in February list the charges against him as four counts of voyeurism, all level 6 felonies.

On July 5, 2018, Winona Lake Police Department officer Mike Foster was informed by Grace College Campus Safety that there was a hidden camera that recorded video and audio in a dormitory bathroom on the campus. Through an investigation, it was discovered that the device also was found in the bedroom of a Grace College female student at her residence, according to court documents. A sheriff’s office started an investigation.

On Aug. 3, Foster was told by Det. Rick Haney that a search warrant was executed on Reeves’ residence and on the hidden camera device in question. Haney told Foster that there were several videos from the device that appeared to be taken in the dormitory bathroom of Grace College.

On Jan. 30, Foster received a hard drive containing all evidence obtained from the hidden camera device. Upon reviewing the evidence, Foster determined that the hidden camera device was placed into the dormitory bathroom and recorded four female Grace College students in various stages of undress on numerous occasions. All four victims were able to identify still photos of themselves taken from the video.

Foster interviewed one of the victims. She said that Reeves gave her the hidden camera device and informed her that it was a motion-activated air freshener he was working on, court documents state. He said the device would collect motion so he could determine the settings for the air freshener. He requested she place the device in the dormitory bathroom.

Haney interviewed Reeves. During the interview, Reeves admitted he provided the hidden camera device to the female student and informed her that it was for an air freshener he was working on. He also admitted he had the victim put the device in the dormitory bathroom to record the female students in various stages of undress without consent from any of the victims.
