Editor, Times-Union: With the hectic time of the election and holiday season approaching, I would like to express my support and gratitude for an individual running for the local school board in Warsaw. Randy Polston, resident of Warsaw, Ind., for 57 years and former principal and teacher for 34 years in the Warsaw school system, has been a tremendous role model and mentor for myself and many others throughout his time in our local education system. Randy’s experience as a teacher, coach and administrator in the Warsaw school system, as well as his current role at Grace College, make him an ideal choice to serve on the local Warsaw Community School Board. Randy has ambitiously devoted his life to the growth and development of students throughout Warsaw. With Randy on the school board, I am confident his influence will lead to what is best for our schools and children. I can personally vouch for Randy’s dedication to the academic and personal development of young children by calling him my principal during my time at Harrison Elementary. Throughout my time at Harrison, and after I had left, it was evident that Randy had invested heavily in each of us, helping us to make wise decisions and to grow academically. Now that I have a young child of my own I cannot think of a better person to ensure the future personal and academic development of my son. As Warsaw Community Schools continues to grow and expand it is critical that someone of Randy Polston’s experience, character and personality be in a position to directly influence how our local schools should develop our children. Education is a critical aspect for all of our children and having a person who has served as a teacher, administrator and coach with the utmost dedication and ambition is why I am voting for Randy Polston in the November 6th election and would advise other citizens in district 4 to do the same.
