I am writing to discuss with you an opportunity that, in my opinion, may never come along again for many years. This upcoming election is very important (they all are) to the future of Indiana, Cass County and Logansport for many reasons.
One of the main issues and the issue I am writing about today is the vacated office of State Senator Tom Weatherwax. Now more than ever we need people in the General Assembly with experience and dedication to our community and state.
I am writing about the candidate that I will support and I believe will do the best job for our community as well as the state. That candidate is Linda Klinck. I have not made this decision based on politics, or friendship; I have made this decision from watching her as she has progressed during her tenure as a city councilperson and deputy mayor.
Now more than ever we need someone at the state house who understands local issues and has experience in all forms of local governance. Linda's background as a volunteer with many different facets of Logansport and Cass County, her experience of being a small business owner, and her insight from the time she worked at the county highway department, as drainage board secretary and secretary for the county commissioners fills all of those requirements. She also has worked for the State of Indiana Commerce Department and helped communities across the state with grant funding and projects that have improved those communities. Her involvement while serving as a city council person, Main Street coordinator, Historic Landmarks Board of Directors and many other projects has also prepared her to be our senator.
I am asking you to vote for Linda Klinck not just because I say so or because she is a trusted friend; I am asking you to vote for Linda Klinck because she has the experience, of leading not-for-profit organizations, running a small business, she has experience working for the city as a councilperson and deputy mayor, working for the county as secretary for the commissioners and highway department and her experience in state government with the Department of Commerce, but more importantly she cares for the people of the 18th Senate District and she cares about what happens in the north central Indiana.
No other candidate has the past experience of working with local and state government, volunteer work or business experience as Linda Klinck. That is why I am endorsing Linda for the senator that will represent the 18th District in the general assembly.
