Virginia “Ginny” Kathryn Ross, of North Webster, passed away on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, in the care of Stillwater Hospice, Fort Wayne, at the age of 84. A dedicated resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana, for the past 51 years, she made North Webster her home in 1974, where she resided until her passing.
She was born on Aug. 6, 1941, in Chicago, to Virginia Irene Tucker LeSanche and Charles Harry Johnston. Ginny grew up in Chicago where she graduated high school and later attended a vocational school. She owned and operated a local pizza parlor in Chicago and when she moved to Indiana she worked as a dedicated employee at Dana Corporation for 28 years in Syracuse.
Ginny was an enthusiastic cook who never missed an opportunity to learn and try new recipes from her many favorite cooking shows on TV. She loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener with a particular love for rhubarb and her many flowers. Ginny took great pride in keeping her lawn and landscape in pristine condition. She cherished nothing more than playing a record and turning the kitchen into a dance floor, inviting her sons, grandkids and anyone nearby to share in some dancing and spinning with her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Don Roulo, Pierceton; Bill Ross, North Webster; three grandchildren: Ashley (Jon) Balmer, North Webster; Bailey Roulo, Orlando, Fla.; Reagan Roulo, Bloomington; and two great-grandchildren, Kolden and Andrew Balmer. Also surviving are two brothers, Bernard (Sue) Johnston, Singapore; and Don (Patricia) Johnston, Pierceton. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and James Johnston; and her sister, Jeannine Johnston.
Ginny’s life will be celebrated with a service at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8 Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Matt Nichols. Family and friends may visit prior to the service from 3 to 5 p.m. A private family graveside will take place at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
Memorial donations in Ginny’s name may be directed to North Webster Food Pantry, 102 S. Morton St., North Webster, IN 46555.
