Virginia Elizabeth “Betty” Ellenwood, 82, of 400 W. Seventh St., North Manchester, and formerly of Warsaw, died at 8:25 p.m. March 16, 2012, in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.
She was born June 10, 1929, in Warsaw, to Leonard Boggs and Hazel Mae Klauk Smith. On Aug. 10, 1947, she married Earl A. Ellenwood, who died March 14, 2011.
She was a lifetime area resident of Kosciusko County, where she was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, member of Gideons Auxiliary International, and the Monroe Hilltoppers. She was co-owner with her late husband of Akron Foundry Inc., since 1964. She worked as the office manager there until she retired in 1990.
Surviving are a daughter, Londa (and spouse Larry) Downs, Warsaw; two sons, Gary (and spouse Karen) Ellenwood, Akron, and David (and spouse Carol) Ellenwood, Akron; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
A private graveside service will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
