Violet H. Oyler, 101, died at 2 p.m. March 6, 2010, in Providence Nursing Home, New Albany.
She was born Sept. 5, 1908, in Milford, to Ernest and Lydia Shively Hull. On June 1, 1929, in Warsaw, she married Ralph Oyler, who died Jan. 17, 1982.
Living most of her life in Kosciusko County, she was co-owner of Wawasee Greenhouse & Nursery for more than 39 years. She was a 1926 graduate of Warsaw High School; a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw; and a charter member of Kosciusko Community Hospital Auxiliary and Wawasee American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are two sons, Robert L. (and spouse Dolores) Oyler, Hoffman Estates, Ill., and Ray O. (and spouse Joyce) Oyler, New Albany; five grandchildren: Cynthia Campbell and Stephen, Randall, Scott and Sandra Oyler; five great-grandchildren: Christina and Melissa Goins, Lindsey, Elizabeth and Samuel; a brother, Robert E. (and spouse Frances) Hull, Beaumont, Calif.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Belle Hull, Fort Meyers, Fla. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Arden Hull, who died in 2007, Max Hull, who died July 15, 1984, and Stanley Hull, who died in October 1985; and a sister, who was stillborn.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Andy Martin of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
