Veteran Service Officer Reminds Veterans Of PACT Act Enrollment Deadline

Posted

The PACT Act is a law that expands Veteran Administration (VA) health care and benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange and other toxic substances.
Kosciusko County Veteran Service Officer Darryl McDowell is reminding veterans who meet the requirements to get enrolled in the PACT Act by Sept. 30, 2023.
Veterans who deployed to a combat zone, never enrolled in VA health care and left active duty between Sept. 11, 2001, and Oct. 1, 2013, are eligible to enroll directly in VA health care - without first applying for VA benefits.
Veterans can apply in person at their local VA facility or online at https://www.va.gov/health-care/apply/application/introduction?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery until 11:59 p.m. local time on Sept. 30.
Find a VA location near you at https://www.va.gov/find-locations/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery.
Visit VA.gov/PACT to learn more.
It’s free, no annual costs and your health care may be free as well.
