BOURBON - Velma P. Bules, 87, of Bourbon, died at 4:35 p.m. Oct. 26, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth.

She was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Bourbon, to Willard and Estella Yazel Sellers. On Jan. 30, 1944, she married Dale Bules, who survives.

She was a lifelong resident of the Bourbon area. She was a graduate of Bourbon High School and attended Manchester College. She was a homemaker and did secretarial and clerical work at Parkview Hospital, Plymouth. She was a longtime member of Mount Pleasant Church of the Brethren.

Also surviving are three daughters: Rachel (and spouse Richard) Weik, Middletown, Pa.; Karen Bules (and Allen), Oak Park, Ill.; Diane (and spouse Max) Zolman, Knoxville, Tenn.; two sons, Stan (and spouse Carol) Bules, Bourbon; and Mark (and spouse Cindy) Bules, Rolling Prairie; a sister, Lorna Miller, Bourbon; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Pleasant Church of the Brethren with Pastor Guy Biddle officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon.
