Valley Softball Team Falls To NorthWood

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley’s varsity softball team scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning Monday, sending 11 batters to the plate in the frame, but lost 13-8 to the visiting NorthWood Lady Panthers.

NorthWood plated a pair of runs in the third inning and took a 7-1 lead with five more runs in the fourth before Valley made its rally.

The Lady Panthers scored six runs over the final two innings and overcame five fielding errors en route to the win.

NorthWood outhit Valley 17-8.

The Lady Vikings were charged with four errors in the field.

Ally Betten led Valley at the plate with three hits, including a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Sydney Howard was 2 for 4 for the Lady Vikings with an RBI and a run scored, and Taylor Czichilski, Kirstyn Yoder and Alex Gomez had one hit each.

Valley will be in action again April 8 in a game at nonconference rival Triton.



Lady Warriors Fall To Lakeland

SYRACUSE – Wawasee’s varsity softball team fell 17-8 Monday to the visiting Lakeland Lakers.

The Lady Warriors are now 1-1 on the season and will host West Noble today.

Lakeland improved to 2-1.

No stats from the game were turned in.



Wawasee JV Team Holds Whitko Hitless

SOUTH WHITLEY – Grant Brooks and Jacob Meek both had three hits, including a double each, and the Wawasee’s JV baseball team won 16-0 at Whitko Monday.

The Warriors, who out hit Whitko 16-0, scored six runs in the first inning and 10 in the fourth.

Gavin Wilson collected the win on the mound for Wawasee, pitching five innings and striking out 12 while not giving up a hit.
