Valley Freshman Leasure HonoredAKRON – Tippecanoe Valley freshman Paul Leasure continued his solid season with a pair of double-digit scoring performances and hit a pair of free throws to win a game last week. For those efforts, Leasure is the Times-Union Athlete of the Week for Jan. 6-11.
In the Vikings’ first game of the week, a 65-32 road win over Three Rivers Conference foe Northfield, Leasure had 13 points.
The more dramatic performance came the next night in a 45-43 non-conference win over visiting Plymouth. Leasure hit five three-pointers and was fouled in the closing seconds trying to make a sixth with the game tied. The freshman hit two of the three tosses for the win.
Tippecanoe Valley, 5-7 overall and winners of three straight, hosts rival Rochester in a TRC game Friday.
