Expressing an opinion and others reading it gives us each a new perspective on a subject. Having the right to express the opinion, without reprisal, is a great freedom in this country.
I do wonder why people write such hateful opinions, filled with hateful name calling, in response to other letters to the editor. In my opinion, it diminishes the author of the letter and I, and I'm guessing other people, stop reading the letter when I see hateful words being written.
Could we please stop the name calling and be kind to one another when writing letters to the editor?
