Updates About Skate Park Given During Warsaw Parks And Recreation Board Meeting

Updates to the skate park, signage, and to Central Park were given during a meeting of the city of Warsaw Parks and Recreation Board Tuesday.
Superintendent of Parks Larry Plummer told the board the concrete will continue to be poured throughout the week at the skate park. He said they will do the south end first, “if that’s good, then they will do the north end and combine the two.” The completion of the skate park has been pushed back to mid-October.
Plummer also let the board know he has picked up all the signage, but it will not go up until after the grading of the park is done. He also let the board know if they see any park hour signs that look “gross,” he has ordered new signs, but they will not be put up until spring.
Additionally, phase two has been completed for the sidewalk replacement project in Central Park. The maintenance department was able to complete the south side behind the stage and past the restrooms. They have also completed work on the east and west shelter lots by filling in cracks, sealed and stripped.
“What did you do to keep the water off of the sidewalks?” asked Board member Jill Beehler.
“We raised the elevation on them … so people aren’t walking in water,” replied Plummer.
The board also recognized Lynnae Miller as the August team member of the month. Plummer stated she does an excellent job with the recreation department “and continues to be a valuable part of our team.” He noted that she stepped up during a meeting and gave her thoughts and experiences with the department.
“We appreciate Lynnae’s hard work and positive attitude … and she contributes to the team in several positive ways,” said Plummer.
