Ulysses Francis

Ulysses Francis, 74, Warsaw, passed away at 8:46 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, in his residence.

He was born Jan. 15, 1943, to George and Ellen Meade Francis in Leander, Ky. He was united in marriage to Bessie Carolyn “Judy” Francis in Silver Lake on April 14, 1963. Judy preceded him on June 9, 2010.

He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and The National Guard with a total of eight years of service, obtaining the rank of SP-5. He was a truck driver, carpenter and salvager.

He is survived by four children: Mark Francis, Cromwell; Jo (Daryl) Schuetz, Aurora, Colo.; James Francis, Rochester; and Rebecca (Michael) Timmreck, Warsaw; a brother, Ernest Francis, Warsaw; a companion, Judith Kline, Warsaw; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with the Rev. Bob Brown officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, with military honors.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at the funeral chapel.
