Two Injured In Two-Vehicle Accident In Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY – A Warsaw man was one of two injured in an accident Tuesday On U.S. 33.
According to an Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office crash report, at approximately 1:46 p.m. Michael Snavely, 68, Ligonier, was driving a 2001 Chevy van north on U.S. 33, south of CR 40. Hector Alvardo Calvillo, 52, Warsaw, was driving a 2020 GMC pickup north on U.S. 33, south of CR 40, directly in front of Snavely.
Calvillo’s vehicle came to a stop to turn left. Snavely was following too closely and was distracted, according to the report. Snavely rear-ended Calvillo.
Both drivers were transported to Goshen Hospital for complaints of pain. Snavely complained of neck pain and Calvillo complained of head pain.
