They were found guilty of these charges during a bench trial in Kosciusko Superior Court III on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
The state's case was presented by Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Dan Hampton. Earl's legal counsel was Brian Pyle, while Goodrich's attorney was Edward Ruiz.
Earl and Goodrich will both be sentenced in Kosciusko Superior Court III at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 12. Following the verdict, Earl was remanded to the custody of the Kosciusko County Sheriff.
Affidavit Of Probable Cause
On Jan. 25, a Warsaw police officer spoke with a man about a battery report. The man said the day prior, he was outside of the Time Out Inn in Warsaw when he was attacked by three unknown individuals.
According to court documents, after the altercation, the man went to a local hospital. Discharge paperwork states he suffered multiple bruises, facial contusions and suffered rib pain.
Surveillance footage from the business showed a man and woman exiting the Time Out after the victim did, with the man running toward the victim and knocking him to the ground. The man then hit and kicked the victim's head.
A second man and the woman watched, then jumped into the fight by punching the victim.
Earl and Goodrich were identified as two of the people involved in battering the victim.
The third person arrested in this case, Cameron G. McCartney Jr., Elkhart, was sentenced on Aug. 25 for battery resulting in bodily injury. He received a one-year sentence suspended on probation.
