Voting in the People’s Choice category of The Watershed Foundation’s photo contest ends Dec. 31.
More than 80 photos were submitted to the foundation’s annual Picture your Watershed contest. The photos were taken all around the 236-square-mile Upper Tippecanoe River watershed from July until November.
This year’s submissions are some of the best ever entered, according to the group.
One vote per day is permitted with People’s Choice entries.
While the People’s Choice Award recipient is chosen by the public, the The Wet n’ Wildlife, Nature’s Studio, and Lovin’ the Lakes recipients are selected by a panel of judges.
Voting is available through the "2017 Photo Contest" tab on the left side of The Watershed Foundation’s Facebook under the profile picture, or on the website at watershedfoundation.org/PhotoContest.
The Watershed Foundation was founded in 1997 to protect and improve water quality in the Upper Tippecanoe River Watershed, spanning from Crooked Lake in Whitley County to the Warsaw-Winona area. The group has worked with farmers and lake residents to implement over 200 water quality improvement projects.
In the last four years, these efforts have prevented over 815 million pounds of weeds and algae from growing in area lakes and streams.
