Editor, Times-Union: I’m Pastor Ronnie L. Patrick, pastor of New Beginnings Church and World Outreach. I want to share a quote from Harry Truman, our 33rd president. President Truman said, “The fundamental basis of this nation’s laws was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings we get from Exodus and Saint Matthew, from Isaiah and Saint Paul ... If we don’t have a proper fundamental moral background, we will finally end up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state.” We see these words living out right in front of us today. We as a nation once again, must turn back to God and His Word. We need to put Christ back into Christmas, Jesus back in our prayers, repentance back in our churches, prayer back in our schools, and the Word of God back in our hearts. Ronnie L.
