Triton Struggles Offensively In Loss To NorthWood

NAPPANEE – Triton struggled to score in stretches in a 51-31 loss Friday at NorthWood.

The Trojans (1-2) scored just three points in the first quarter, to the Panthers’ 17. 

They matched NorthWood’s second-quarter total of 17, and outscored the Panthers (3-1) 9-4 in the third to be down by nine.

However, NorthWood limited the Trojans to two points in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. 

Ben Vincent led all scorers with 14 points for the Panthers, while Triton’s Jared Bules had a team-high 12 points.

The Trojans will host Career Academy Tuesday.

Cougars Crushed By Dragons

ARGOS – Turnovers plagued the Lakeland Christian Cougars Friday.

LCA’s boys basketball team committed 19 turnovers in a 70-29 loss at Argos.

The Cougars were outscored 19-6 in the first quarter and trailed 33-14 by halftime, and the Dragons cruised to victory in the second half. 

Jake Harmon scored a team-high 13 points for the Cougars (1-2), while Sam Manikowski had a game-high 17 points for the Dragons (1-1)

Lakeland Christian will host Hamilton today in the second game of a girls-boys doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.

Whitko Edged By Wabash

WABASH – The Whitko boys basketball team lost 54-52 Friday at Wabash. 

Brett Sickafoose led the Wildcats with 17 points, while Clayton Ebbinghouse had 14, Micah Cokl scored 10 points and Spencer Sroufe added six points.

The game was close throughout.

Whitko was down 13-10 after the first quarter, and trailed 21-19 at halftime. 

The game was tied at 35 after the third quarter, but Wabash edged Whitko 17-15 in the final quarter.

Whitko will play today at Belmont.



LCA Falls To Culver Community

CULVER  – Anna Reimink scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds, but the Lakeland Christian girls basketball team lost 42-34 Friday at Culver Community.

Jessi Calizo had 11 points, seven rebounds and five steals, while Tori Calizo added five points and five rebounds for the Lady Cougars (2-6).

Lakeland Christian outscored Culver 10-7 in the first quarter, and was down just 22-20 at halftime. 

The Lady Cougars (4-4) trailed 29-26 after the third quarter, but a big fourth quarter for Culver (2-6) sealed the loss for Lakeland Christian.

The Lady Cougars will host Hamilton today at 4 p.m. in the first game of a girls-boys doubleheader.
