BREMEN – Triton’s Carter Kuntz and Chase Butler earned a trip to the individual sectional Wednesday.
Kuntz and Butler are the No. 1 doubles team for the Trojans, and knocked off Bremen’s duo 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.
The match was the lone bright spot for the?Trojans, who lost 4-1 to be eliminated from the Bremen Sectional.
Kuntz and Butler will play in the individual sectional at Culver Academies, which will run concurrently with a team regional starting Tuesday.
Garriott’s?Three Goals Lead Manchester Over Peru
PERU – Emma Garriott’s hat trick spurred the Manchester girls soccer team to a 6-1 win Tuesday at Peru.
All of Garriott’s goals came in the first half on assists by Jirni Cripe, Haley?Clifford and Lainey Shock.
Addie Haecker also netted a goal, and Manchester led 4-1 at halftime.
Haylie Miller scored on an assist by Cripe in the second half, while Beletu Stout also kicked in a goal.
Manchester coach Jen Birch credited Lex Donathan, Ranissa Shambarger, Hadley Schannep and Clifford with shut-down defense, and noted Cripe and Bailey Mooney excelled in controlling midfield.
Whitko Ends Home Schedule In Defeat
SOUTH WHITLEY – Julia Seifert made 20 saves, but the Whitko girls soccer team lost 4-0 to Columbia City Wednesday in a home match.
It was the last home match ever for Seifert and fellow seniors Emily Oliphant, Sidney?Overmeyer, Holly Hathaway, Charlotte Cripe and Jazspen Stewart.
Triton Blanked?By Plymouth
PLYMOUTH – Lexia Hostrawser tallied nine kills, but the Triton volleyball team was swept 3-0 Wednesday at Plymouth.
The Lady Trojans lost 25-11, 25-13, 25-19.
Triton’s Alyxa Viers had 11 digs and nine kills, while Dylanie Miller recorded nine assists, Emma Hepler registered five assists and Molly McFarland notched nine digs.
